Κριτικά σημειώματα για την Μαρία Ματάλα :

Γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα. Φιλόλογος, με μεταπτυχιακό συγκριτικής λογοτεχνίας του 20ου αιώνα. Εκ φύσεως δεν εντάσσεται, δεν συνοδοιπορεί, και δεν προσκολλάται σε ρεύματα ή ζωγραφικές τάσεις. Πειραματίζεται, τολμά και επιδιώκει την δική της εξέλιξη, μέσα από πηγαίες επιλογές. Μαρία είναι ένα βαθειά φιλοσοφημένο άτομο με παιδεία και τόση πολύ προσωπική εργασία στον τομέα αυτογνωσία και αυτοβελτίωση, όσο λίγοι. Ευγενική, αλλά δυναμική, χαμηλών τόνων, αλλά ουσιαστική. Αισθαντική και επιλεκτική, όταν αφεθεί σε ένα ερέθισμα έμπνευσης, βρίσκει τον τρόπο να αποδώσει στο έργο της, όλη την φρεσκάδα της ματιάς που απαλλαγμένη από την υπερβολή, εστιάζει στην ουσία και συλλαμβάνει την μαγεία, που αναδύεται και αποκαλύπτεται μόνο σε κείνους που βλέπουν με τα μάτια της ψυχής, -κάτω από την επιφάνεια. Μετουσιώνεται σε τέχνη, η απέραντη ευαισθησία, και τα χρώματα, έχουν τους τόνους των συγκινησιακών δονήσεων της ζωγράφου, ανάλογα με το θέμα της. ΄Εχει εικαστική προσωπικότητα, δικό της ύφος, και πορεία αναμφίβολα ανοδική.

Born in Athens. Magor in comparative literature of the 20th century. She is original and does not go with the current and fashions. Always experimenting, she dares and pursues her own evolution through source options. Maria is a deeply philosophical person with education and so much personal work in self-awareness and self-improvement. Gentle, but powerful, low-key but effective. Sensual and selective before a stimulus she unravels her inspiration, and finds a way to give to her work all the freshness of her insight, free from exaggeration, focusing on the substance and capturing the magic that emerges, as revealed only to those who see with the eyes of the soul, below the surface. Her infinite tenderness is then transformed into art, and her colors have tons of the emotional shock of the artist according to her subjetc. She has an artistic personality, her own style, and definitely an upward path.

[…] Η Μαρία Ματάλα, μια ευαίσθητη καλλιτέχνης με πολυπρόσωπη δράση, όχι μόνο στο εικαστικό τοπίο αλλά και τον κοινωνικό, ζωγραφίζει με χρώματα λιτά αλλά που βγαίνουν από του νου και της ψυχής τα μέσα μέρη, σπίτια, τοπία, θάλασσες και μας ταξιδεύει με αγάπη, σε όμορφους ονειρεμένους τόπους, υπαρκτούς και φανταστικούς, όπου κυριαρχεί το απέραντο γαλάζιο. […] Εχει σπουδάσει ιστορία τέχνης και έχει κάνει ελεύθερες σπουδές με την προτροπή του Χατζηκυριάκου Γκίκα. Η προσέγγιση με τα νεοκλασικά της σε έναν κόσμο που χάνεται, γίνεται με μεγάλο σεβασμό και καταφέρνει ένα υποβλητικό αποτέλεσμα καθώς τα λιτά χρώματα που χρησιμοποιεί γίηνα και λευκά, διαθλώνται, δημιουργώντας εξαιρετική εντύπωση.
[…] Η ζωγραφική της Ματάλα με εντυπωσίασε γιατί έχει προσωπικό ύφος. Ξεχωρίζει με την απλότητα και την εκφραστική δύναμη που πηγάζει από την αφάνταστη λεπτότητα και αισθαντικότητα της δημιουργού. Ο θεατής συμμετέχει όταν σταθεί μπροστά στο νεοκλασικό απομεινάρι, που στέκει όρθιο, σα να έχει κάτι να του πει από την ιστορία του. Μας ξεναγεί λοιπόν η ζωγράφος μας μέσα σ’αυτόν τον κόσμο της σιωπής για να καταλάβουμε το νόημα, το μέγεθος και τη σημασία του. Ακόμα μας δίνει να καταλάβουμε, με την όλη θεματική του έργου της, τον κοινό ζωγραφικό λόγο. […] Τελειώνοντας αυτή τη σύντομη αναφορά στο έργο της Μαρίας Ματάλα θα πούμε πως η όμορφη ευαίσθητη εικόνα αυτής της έκθεσης είναι αποτέλεσμα ευαισθησίας και γνώσης που συνδέονται άμεσα με τον ψυχισμό της δημιουργού, ο οποίος διαποτίζει στην κυριολεξία τη ζωγραφική έκφρασή της. [...] Maria Matala, a sensitive artist with a multifaceted action, not only in the visual landscape but also the social one, paints with plane colors, coming from inner side of her mind and soul, houses, landscapes, seas and travels us with love to beautiful dream places, actual and imaginary, which dominates the sea. [...] She studied art history and has been educating herself at several ateliers at the instigation of Hadjikyriakos Ghika. Her approach to the athenean neo-classic buildings, a world that is lost, is done with great respect and she accomplishes fascinating result because the colors used sparingly earthy and white, reflect themselves, creating an excellent impression.
[...] The Matala's painting impressed me because he has a personal style. Buoyed by the simplicity and expressive power which stem from the incredible delicacy and sensibility of the creator. The viewer participates when standing in front of the neoclassical ruin, that continues standing upright, to listen to the story the building has to tell. So, the painter gives us a tour in this world of silence to understand the meaning, the size and importance of it. Still she gives us to understand, the whole theme of her work, painting the common ground. [...] To conclude this brief reference to the work of Maria Matala, I would say that the beautiful picture of this sensitive exhibition is a result of her sensitivity and knowledge, directly related to the soul of the creator, which pervades literally her painting expression.

[…]Ανανεώνοντας κάθε φορά τα ερεθίσματά της, η καλλιτέχνιδα, που άλλοτε απεικονίζει εξωτερικά σπιτιών και μνημεία και άλλοτε αρχαιολογικά κειμήλια και τοπία, επιδυκνύει σε όλες τιςπεριπτώσεις μια μεγάλη ευαισθησία στο χρώμα. Ακόμη, τα έργα της χαρακτηρίζονται κάθε φορά απο την ενδιαφέρουσα οπτική γωνία με την οποία βλέπει το θέμα της. Ανεπηρέαστη απο τις μόδες και τους συρμούς στην τέχνη, συνεχίζει την πηγαία πορεία της στη ζωγραφική, πιστή στο προσωπικό της όραμα.

[…]En cherchant toujours des nouveaux sujets et styles, elle montre une grande sensibilité à la couleur à toutes ses peintures qu’elles soient des extérieurs de maisons, des monuments, des sites archéologiques ou des paysages. En plus, son travail est caractérisé d’un point de vue intéressant par lequel elle choisit d’examiner son sujet. Elle n’est pas touchée par les tendances et les modes dans l’art, et continue sa course authentique dans le monde de la peinture, fidèle à sa vision personnelle.

Η ομορφιά και η ιδιορρυθμία του πίνακα είναι ακριβώς το οτι κατορθώνει να μετατρέψει μια συμβατική απεικόνιση (ενα χάρτη) σε αληθινό έργο τέχνης, το οποίο μπορεί να λειτουργεί αυτόνομα είτε ολόκληρο είτε κατά τμήματα...
[…]Οι ροές των νερών και του αέρα μετατρέπονται σε αέναο πέταγμα ψυχών που αιωρούνται πάνω από την γήινη πραγματικότητα. Ετσι το γήινο, το διεθνές γήινο, μετατρέπεται σε διαστημικά αιώνιο.

Έχω παρακολουθήσει την ζωγραφική εργασία της Μαρίας Ματάλα. Η ζωγράφος ερμηνεύει τα θέματά της με προσοχή, εντιμότητα και αυθορμητισμό.
Η αίσθησις της ζωγραφικής στην Μαρία Ματάλα είναι έμφυτος. Εχει δε αναπτύξει δικό της τρόπο έκφρασης, δικό της ύφος : Απογυμνώνοντας το θέμα της απο κάθε περιττόν και κρατώντας μόνον το ουσιώδες μέρος του.
Επίσης, η ζωγράφος δεν περιορίζεται σε πλαίσια. Μπορεί να εναλλάσσεται, Εξελίσεται δε διαρκώς.
Την εργασία της διακρίνει η λιτότητα και η ευαισθησία τόσο στον τομέα της σύνθεσης όσον και στο χρώμα. Και τούτο είναι ένα από τα μέσα, που η εργασία της εντυπωσιάζει.

Ayant suivi le travail pictural de Mme Maria MATALA je voudrais dire que le peintre s’exprime dans ses sujets avec attention, honnêteté, et spontanéité.
Le sens de peinture chez Maria MATALA est inné. Elle a pu développer sa propre façon de s’exprimer, son style personnel : En dénudant son sujet de tout superflu elle préserve que la partie substantielle de celui-ci.
Aussi, le peintre ne se confine à des cadres – limites. Elle inter change et évolue tout dans le temps dans l’espace.
Son travail est caractérisé par la simplicité et la sensibilité tant dans le domaine de la composition que dans la couleur. Voilà pourquoi son travail impressionne.

Having followed the pictorial work of Ms Maria MATALA I would say that the artist expresses herself through her subjects with care, honesty, and spontaneity.
The meaning of painting at Maria MATALA is innate. She was able to develop her own way of expressing her personal style by stripping her subject from any superfluous and preserving the substantial part of it.
Also, the painter is not confined to limits. She inter changes and evolves across time and space.
Her work is characterized by simplicity and sensitivity both in the field of composition and color. That's the reason I'm impressed by her work.
